Background and Aim: Elderly has many problems including drug use, nutritional problems, hearing and vision loss, forgetfulness, urinary incontinence, that may impact on their quality of life. The aim of this study was to investigate the common health problems of the elderly referred to the health centers of Azadshahr city in 2013.
Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on forms of 148 elderly who attended to health centers in Azadshahr city using inconvenient sampling technique. The Screening form was investigating 13 cases of the most common problems of aging. Data were reported using mean and standard deviation through tables, and to analyze data, Chi-square test and spss16 was used.
Results: samples were 58.1% female and 41.9% male.A Problem in right and left ear was 28.76% and 28.57%, respectively, and visual problems in right and left eyes were 21.33%, 22.66%, respectively. 21.01% of them did not remember the words and 42.75% felt depressed. 20.13% had a history of falling over the past year. 87.32% had no normal teeth. 84.49% had no supplementary insurance. Of the social status, 28.31% lived alone and 78.57%, even literacy was not read and write.
Conclusion: According to the findings, hearing and vision problems, lack of reminder words, depression, a history of fall in the past year, lack of natural teeth, lack of supplementary insurance, loneliness and illiteracy have been seen. Due to problems The frequent screening and follow-up of this group should be taken into account. It is also necessary to make arrangements for the elderly supplementary insurance.
