Abstract:   (582 Views)
Background & Aim: Recent researches in recent years have confirmed that stress and psychosocial stress are risk factors independent of age, sex and other classic physical risk factors of heart disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the predictors of coronary artery disease based on personality factors and psychological risk factors.
Material & Methods: This research was correlational. Among the cardiovascular patients of the 25-25 year old male and female Tabriz who were admitted to the surgical wards of the coronary artery angiography during the second half of 1394, 50 subjects who were eligible for inclusion criteria were selected purposefully. Also, 50 patients were selected from the companions of the patients by matching method. The instruments of the study included depression, anxiety and stress syndromes (DASS-21), Lovibond personality traits, DDenollet personality trait, Rattus personality pattern, Antonovsky sense of coherence, and Procidano and Heller social support questionnaires And Endler and Parker Stress Coping Styles. Data were analyzed by statistical analysis of logistic regression.
Results: The results showed that stress variables, sense of coherence, social support, problem-oriented coping style, emotional-thinking style, negative emotions, social inhibition, and age predicted coronary artery disease. Also, the strongest predictor of coronary artery disease was social inhibition. The present study showed that personality factors and psychological risk factors predict coronary artery disease in the heart.
Conclusion: Personality and psychological factors are among the most important risk factors for coronary artery disease in Iranian populations. Therefore, in order to reduce the incidence of coronary artery disease, it is necessary to consider behavioral interventions in order to modify psychological factors along with medical interventions.
