The Aim of this study was to Compare Parent’s and Nurse’s Perceptions of Parental Needs of Hospitalized Children. Materials & Methods: This research is a cross sectional survey that has been done in 1385(2006) in pediatric hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Sampling was done with easy method and Study sample included 150 parents of hospitalized children and 80 nurses in pediatric hospitals. Data gathering tool was "Parental needs of hospitalized child” questionnaire that is made by “Kristjánsdóttir" (1996). Data analysis was done using descriptive and analytical methods. Results: Research findings showed that in both parents and nurses perspectives, all of parents needs was important. Among all categories of parental needs, meaningful relationship was found only between the parents and nurses perspectives toward importance of parental needs (P value=0/007). Parents and nurses believed that parent’s needs are met partly. There wasn't a meaningful relationship between the parents and nurses perceptions toward meeting parental needs (P value=0/666). Conclusion: Considering results of present research, parents and nurses had percept all of parental needs as important. Although, There are some deficits in meeting these needs. Therefore, parent's cooperation with health care team for promoting recovery of sick child, considering parent’s needs is really necessary.
