Background: Cardiovascular diseases are so prevalence. myocardial infarction is one of the main causes of hospitalization among cardiovascular diseases has got many risk factors and problems. Anxiety is a problem these patients encounter after MI.  changes in blood pressure, heart rate and coronary vesseles attributed to psychologic factors such as anxiety . different studies on psychologic factors revealed that many techniques specifically, education is benefical in order to  reduce patient’s anxiety in various situations such as myocardial infarction.

Objectives: To determine the effec of education on patient’s anxiety with myocardial infarction.

Materials & Methods: This research was an experimental study has been done on 112  adult MI patients(62 in intervention group, 50 in control group).  The effect of education on level of anxiety of patients experienced their first myocardial infarction was measured by questionnaire. samples were selected from patients  at heart wards in selected hospitals related to Iran University and Beheshti University of Medical Science.ultimately, data were analysed with spss 15 and t- test.

Results: The finding showed that education is benefical in reducing patient,s anxiety after a stressful experience such as myocardial infarction. Results also showed that was a significant difference between level of anxiety of patients before and after education.

Conclusion: Results showed that difference of anxiety before and after educatin was 6.15
(SD = 0.97). This study results reveal that education after myocardial infarction decrease conditional anxiety. Therefore, a similar research on other patients for informational preparation (video tape education) and with other illnesses is recommended.
