Background and Objectives:  Adolescents are prone to immature and romantic sexual relationships due to emotional behaviors and the dominance of emotions over logic. These high-risk sexual behaviors cause unpleasant and destructive negative physical, psychological and social consequences. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the model of extended parallel process on sexual control of female adolescents.
Materials and Methods: This semi-experimental study was performed on50  second grade female students of the of Sama High School in Aliabad Katoul in 2020. Sampling method was simple random assignment in experimental and control groups. The data collection tool was a sexual restraint questionnaire. The researcher in the experimental group held 8 group training sessions (45-60 minutes) each week. In the control group, routine school trainings were performed. Finally, the data was analyzed by statistical tests (independent t, paired t and ANCOVA) after being entered into the statistical software spss version 21.
Results: The independent t-test did not show any significant difference in the sexual abstinence of the two test and control groups before the intervention (P=0.14). But after the intervention, there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of sexual restraint (P<0.01).  Also, ANCOVA test showed a significant difference in the change of self-control score by removing the effect of pre-test (p <0.01, Eta = 0.64).
Conclusion: Considering the effectiveness of the extended parallel process model on the sexual restraint of adolescent girls, increasing the awareness of adolescents and creating sensitivity regarding high-risk sexual behaviors beside increasing girls' understanding can be a preventing way of high-risk sexual behaviors.
