One of these factors is vaginal muscle relaxation. Due to the couples’ dissatisfaction and the prevalence of elective colpoperineorraphy, the present study aimed to evaluate the sexual function before, 6and 18 months  after colpoperineorraphy.

Materisal & Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental study which was conducted on 76 women with perineal and vaginal muscle relaxation. After obtaining written informed consents, all the study subjects were required to complete the demographic and Female Sexual Function Index(FSFI)questionnaires before, 6 and 18 months after colpoperineorraphy. The reliability of the instrument with Cronbach's alpha of 0.7 is accepted. The data were analyzed by SPSS16 software, using paired t-test, repeated measurs Test.

Results: The mean age of the participants was 34/371±5/102 years. The mean score of FSFI increased from 24.19±3.09 befor opration to 26.92±3.41 and 32.61±1.32, 6 and 18 months after opration respectively (p<0/001). Moreover, the scores of desire, arousal, orgasm, lubrication and satisfaction had significantly increased (P<0.001). But the increase Dysparenuia and decrease lubrecation were seen 6 months after surgery, but 18 months later was improved (P<0.001).

Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that sexual function had improved 6 and 18 months after colpoperineorraphy. This indicates that colpoperineorraphy has a positive effect on the women’s sexual function.
