Background & Aim: Job burnout as occupational risk can affect physical and mental situations’ staff. This problem has known as an important disorder between health care staff and it is growing because of being high level of stress in these staves .This survey was designed to evaluate burnout rate and its related factors in nurses working in governmental hospitals in Lorestan.
Material & Methods: In this cross sectional descriptive study, research population was total nurses working in governmental hospital in Lorestan province. 297 nurses was selected for studying by randomized multi-stage sampling. Data was collected using the demographic and characteristic questionnaire and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) that is valuable and reliable questionnaire. Data was analyzed by 16 SPSS software.
Results: Most of sample had high level of frequency and intensity of job burnout in sense of personal non-accomplishment dimension, moderate level in depersonalization dimension and low level of emotional exhaustion dimension. In addition there is a significant relation between job burnout with some demographic and job characteristics such as age, gender, job situation, work experience and work hours in month.
Conclusion: Results of various researches showed that nurses have high prevalence of job burnout and there are differences and conflictions between results of researches in related factors with job burnout. Because of that, managers should identify and remove these factors.
