Materials & Methods: In this cross-sectional (descriptive-analytical) study, the study population includes all students studying at Golestan University of Medical Sciences. The data collection tool in this study is the demographic information questionnaire and the standard 5-question psychological well-being questionnaire (Five Well-Being Index) of the World Health Organization (WHO). The sampling method was voluntary and available. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t test, one-way analysis of variance, multiple linear regression in SPSS-26 software.
Results: In general, 700 students studying at Golestan University of Medical Sciences participated in this study. 79.5% of the participants were female and the rest (20.5%) were male. The average age in this study was 21.4 years with a standard deviation of 5.3. The average mental well-being score among all students was 18.97 with a standard deviation of 5.59 (score range from 5 to 30). The results of multiple linear regression showed that the variables of age, sex, educational level and mother's level of education were effective on students' well-being.

This issue needs to be done in order to improve the mental health of students through effective participation between students, university officials and ministers.
