Background and Objective: Family caregivers of elderly people with type 2 diabetes face numerous physical and psychological problems. Resilience and quality of life are two important factors in the lives of these caregivers. Therefore, the present study was conducted to determine the relationship between resilience and quality of life of family caregivers of elderly people with type 2 diabetes.

Materials and Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 90 family caregivers of elderly people with type 2 diabetes in Shahrekord city were studied in 1403-1404. The resilience and quality of life of the samples were examined using the Connor and Davidson CD-RISC resilience questionnaire and the quality of life of caregivers. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22 (frequency, mean and standard deviation, chi-square and Pearson correlation) at a significance level of less than 0.05.

Results: The results of the study showed that the mean and standard deviation of resilience and quality of life scores were 22.52 ± 3.77 and 2.57 ± 0.29, respectively, indicating that they had lower than average resilience and low quality of life. It was also found that there was a direct and statistically significant relationship between their resilience and quality of life. (P<0.05)

Conclusion: Resilience can play an effective role in increasing the quality of life of caregivers of elderly people with type 2 diabetes. It is suggested that healthcare providers focus on strengthening resilience and increasing their quality of life by providing appropriate training, thus playing an effective role in increasing their physical and mental stability and stability.
